Sofia’s Story: From Artwork to Mimi Blanket
Sofia's Story began as something very special.
The design was originally a painting created for Sofia by Indigenous artist Maralma King. The painting tells Sofia’s story — her life with Rett Syndrome, the love of her family, and the things that bring her joy, including her favourite colours.
Each element of the artwork reflects connection, strength, and individuality, capturing Sofia not by her diagnosis alone, but by who she is and the people and moments that shape her world. It’s a celebration of life, love, and identity.
As we spent time with the artwork, it felt right to share this story in a way that could bring comfort and warmth to others. From there, the painting was thoughtfully transformed into our Sofia’s Story Mimi blanket, combining meaningful design with the practical support Mimi Blankets are known for.
Today, Sofia’s Story is more than just a pattern — it’s a reminder that every person has a story worth telling, and that thoughtful design can honour lived experience while making everyday life a little easier.
